New Fabric from Michael Miller
Of course as the weather gets warmer we begin to think about next Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas (eek - but only because the new wonderful fabric begins to arrive, allowing us ample time to begin our fall and winter holiday projects).

For the LOVE of Fabric and Embroidery
I just came back from a day-long training in Orlando with the Baby Lock region for the launch and training of their new Embroidery Works software. (Their tag line is "For the love of sewing" and they have done a little cheer in the past, so it is on my mind.) The software is phenomenal! As we have only been a Baby Lock Elite dealer since we moved into our new space, our knowledge and training is fresh. So when I watched the new software at work - combining many of the programs I have recently learned all rolled up into one easy to use format, I was oohing and ahhhhing!
While I won't rattle on about details now, I will tell you that if embroidery is something that you have been doing for a while or just wanting to try, this is the product for you! And if your computer has internet capabilities, it automatically checks for updates like your other computer programs - woohoo! I have the software to demo in the shop now and have already ordered it for the shop - so it should be in this week! I think I will have a little lecture/demo for everyone who may be interested in starting with embroidery software or expanding what they have.
On the fabric side - before I headed up to central Florida yesterday, UPS delivered several boxes from Westminster Fibers - Kaffe Fassett and his partners have new spring fabric that is the best I have seen in a while (and I love love all of the Kaffe fabrics). Plus new charm squares and design rolls (jelly rolls).
Also in, more white on white fabrics (we needed them!) And it's only Tuesday! Happy quilting, sewing, and embroidering!!

Calendar Planning (Choices Choices!)
We can't believe March is halfway over! Where did the Winter go (did we really have one?) Our 'season' here in Florida was a busy one and we couldn't be happier. We met so many wonderful quilters and sewing enthusiasts from all over the world - it was such a treat! One of the saddest things we have to do each Spring is say 'so long' to our seasonal friends who head back up north for the summer months. We miss them but take comfort knowing that they will soon return (and maybe we will have the opportunity to visit them at their other home.) Boca Raton and the area fortunately has a rather large and growing year-round community and we take advantage of the lessened traffic and available seats in restaurants. When it is too hot to play golf all day and our visiting friends and family are demanding less of our time to go out, we take the time to enjoy our hobbies and indoor activities. So, give yourself time to take some classes and participate in workshops at StitchCraft after the Easter/Passover holidays are behind us.
StitchCraft is made up of the most talented staff of creative women, and we are planning on sharing our skills with you in the form of more classes big and small in the coming months. Miki and Raine have taught some amazing quilt classes this year - their students' results have been stunning. We are thinking about adding bargello, Butter Charm and Jelly, a french braid Christmas tree skirt, hand and more! Shirley will be teaching sewing, Pat has embroidery and computer on her horizons, and Suzanne has been creating samples including a jelly roll/charm pack friendly quilt and a crazy quilted laptop case. If you have been wanted to see what art quilting is all about, Johanna will have some inexpensive surface design workshops for you to come and play! Also, scrappy quilting is fun and popular - so how about a string quilt? Don't forget Tammie's Quickies. When she teaches a project you finish (and they fill up fast). All classes will be posted on the Calendar tab on this website and I am sure we will send out emails, too! Stay tuned!
